Center Fire Pistol Event Overview
The HCCL Center Fire Pistol Event is designed as an open-format shooting experience focused on skill development, personal improvement, and friendly competition. There are no divisions or categories—participants are encouraged to bring any rimfire or centerfire pistol. Optics and firearm modifications are permitted.
This event emphasizes self-competition and provides an opportunity for shooters of all experience levels to refine their performance in a supportive environment.

Event Format
- Each participant will complete 5 timed runs
- A minimum of 5 rounds must be fired per run
- Shooters may fire additional rounds in the event of a miss, but it is not required to hit every target
- Time penalties will be added to the final score for missed targets
Cost
- Free for HCCL members
- $5 entry fee for non-members and guests
Required Equipment
Participants must bring:
- Firearm (in a bag or case)
- Minimum of 25 rounds of ammunition
- At least two magazines (5+ round capacity each)
- Holster (required for centerfire handguns)
- Eye protection
- Hearing protection
Shooting Stages & Guidelines
- There are 8 possible shooting stages; one will be selected on the day of the event
- A mandatory safety briefing and firearm handling review will be conducted before shooting begins
- All firearms must arrive unloaded and secured in a bag or case
- A designated staging area will be available for preparation and addressing malfunctions
- When called to the line, shooters should be ready with enough equipment to complete at least two runs to help maintain event flow
